I bought a bottle of Chanel No.19 EdT today because I really love the iris and galbanum in this. The SA suggested it and we both though it smelled rather masculine on me. I love green frags and I love florals, but I hope this doesn't come off too feminine to others. Anybody else own No. 19 EdT? Chanel No.19 - edt vs edp vs parfum. I have not tried the Parfum, but I have tried the EdT and the EdP. I found the EdT to be drier and greener. I'm curious to read a side-by-side comparison, too. I plan on purchasing one of the #19s. So far, I'm leaning towards the EdT.
I love vintage No. 19, as you probably already know, Starblind, and I was not very impressed by La Pausa. The iris note is lovely but it was a very transparent and fleeting on me. I would also say vintage No. 19 (EDT and parfum) are both greener than La Pausa I am looking to authenticate and date my old Chanel parfum bottles but I cannot find a definitive answer on this. . The older EDT-C is much creamier and definitely something I will keep in my wardrobe. All I could get from the EDP was lemon, and not even a creamy lemon at that. . 19. Jan 16, 2016 #20
Modern formulations---my off the cuff comments: EDT--dry green, powdery iris, ethereal, rose stays subdued, not much leather that I can detect EDP--sharp green, very rosy, subdued leather parfum--slightly softer green with stronger leather notes, wet, rooty iris and a bit less rose Value for money is the EDP, in my opinion. For the parfum, I think vintage is better . Chanel No. 19 EDT was reformulated as early as late 2005, early 2006 when the new bottle with the built in sprayer was introduced. I have a post as early as 2006 mentioning this, and one from 2007 listing Chanel No. 19 EDT as a reformulated fragrance. I'm glad you're finding ways to enjoy your EDP, but I would also encourage you to try No. 19 EDT at some point. As you are probably aware, the compositions of the Chanel fragrances do vary between EDT, EDP and parfum, and I've found I prefer the EDT and parfum over the EDP in many of them including No. 19.Makes sense, as the paper insert in the box states that the edt is "for women who wear No.19 all over the body." Smells a lot like Chanel Pour Monsieur, while the parfum is definitely more feminine. No.19 is very pretty but the performance seems rather dismal and more like an eau de cologne than an eau de toilette.
19. Oct 29, 2018 #8 Bummer. I was ecstatic when Chanel re-released the EDT and bought two 100ml bottles immediately - now I'm even more glad I did. . Next to Chanel No. 5, the iconic No. 19 is perhaps the greatest and most characteristic fragrance in the Chanel lineup. The galbanum and other herbal aspects, providing a natural reference, are perfectly balanced against sharper, brighter florals and a classic chypre note, which combine to seem ethereal .

While the EdT is more pale green peridot, the EdP is more of a brilliant canary-green, differing olfactive phenomena that also happens to be masterfully signified in the coloring of the juice — a fact surely not glossed over by Chanel's adept product managers.
IMO the edt is probably the easiest to wear for a man, followed by the parfum and edp last. The edp is the prettiest and most obviously floral formulation and is the one leaning most towards typically feminine.
