The result was the Basik LV V, a £50 S-shaped design with a Linn Basik cartridge as standard – practically an Audio Technica AT-93E with a glued-in stylus!Having experimented since, the LVV still has a fantastic open and airy sound. It still sounds good and behaves itself - even though the bearing is worn and sloppy, and the damping is gone on the arm lift. The arm last regularly supported a Dynavector 10x5 or Ortofon 2M Red fitted to a second deck, a Revolver.

Looking to replace/upgrade the tonearm with something that is a drop in installation, no modifications. The obvious choices are a Linn LV X or Akito. The Linn tonearms require a 25mm (~1in) mounting hole with a mounting distance of 211mm (~8.25in).Linn Basik LV-V. 9 Inch Tonearm. This lovely vintage ‘Made in Japan’ Linn tonearm is in excellent physical condition and full & perfect working order. Full signal continuity from head-shell tags to RCA plugs, geometry and bearings are all fine, bias (anti-skate) mechanism is working fine and the arm-lifter operates exactly as it should . It's missing the counterweight, tonearm lift arm and the snib (if that's the right word) which the counterweight hangs off. I've searched on .
